I've always considered "customer service" as the best sales technique...it's simple, easy and sure to bring results.BelaBloghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01141125673637818634noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4915159569907809839.post-38000279928614302352012-08-17T15:16:02.114-07:002012-08-17T15:16:02.114-07:00I was worried until you found Mariah & her sto...I was worried until you found Mariah & her store :-) As I read about your experience (very well expressed, btw), I kept thinking about "my" Walgreen's pharmacy, where they all know me and I know them. It's so chicken-and-egg: they give me good service, I give them repeat business and so forth. I don't know why managers forget that the customers pay everyone's salary, but when they don't remember that and have their staff behave accordingly...I take my business elsewhere. As you noted, there's another competitor on every corner!texcathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13786837534400621891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4915159569907809839.post-54164381928500413532012-08-16T15:19:42.207-07:002012-08-16T15:19:42.207-07:00What a lovely post, Maureen! Years ago when I worked part-time at large chain store (Target-it is a compliment so please don't sue me, Target!) the theme they taught their staff was "Fast, Fun and Friendly" and they meant it. They made it clear that the smile and helping any customer who entered the area around an employee was a big part of the job. Once addressing a customer, they were not to leave the customer until they were totally helped. This was easy since I had been part of a family biz for years and understood how much easier it is to keep customers you have than bring in new ones. Any businesses who encourage and reward their staffs for putting customers first can make an instant surge of positive force in the universe! If only everyone on the planet could attend Disney University where everyone joins to make it "the happiest place on earth" they would understand the difference attitude can make. Thanks for this hopeful story, Olya, and congrats to Mariah! I hope you get a chance to print out your article and give it to her! Have a magical day!! Eveyone would rather do biz in a happy place and dollars are votes about which businesses survive (and which ones do not). If a place is a downer, they can't be surprised when shoppers decide it is more enjoyable to shop by internet in their own cozy homes, and avoid crabby store staff if they cannot count on "fast, fun, friendly" and efficient service. :^) Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
